Incoherent Thoughts

Weird day. Weeeeeeird day. There I was, peacefully making dinner, when suddenly out of nowhere, comes a woman's voice. 「そして、世界が終わりました。」 I tried to ignore it, but it wouldn't leave me alone. I got bitten by a particularly rabid breed of plotbunny, it seems. o.o;
Spent all through my dinner caught up in 'seeing' the scenario for the opening, I didn't even notice I'd eaten anything until there was nothing left. I'd meant to read while eating, but the book remained unopened. Having finished dinner, all I could do and come to the computer to write it down...
And it's all coming out in Japanese. Heeeelp. ;___;

For now, there has been absolutely no trouble in writing down any of it, or coming up with the plot/setting. Things just flow out like they'd always been there in the back of my mind. I have three pretty well fleshed out characters that popped out of nowhere. I have an AU world complete with history in my mind, and I know how the plot goes all the way to the end. I have no idea where this came from and how I managed it in two hours. Granted, nothing but the prologue and some of the first chapter have been written down, but still. I haven't had this happen in around five years, and it's freaking me out.

I...I wasn't supposed to be writing anything but Endahren's story. I certainly won't pick this story for Nanowrimo, no way I could write in Japanese that fast. There's of course the possibility the story will suddenly decide to translate itself into English, but I have a feeling that's not going to happen.
What'll I do if it keeps insisting on being written all through November? o.o;

Was greatly amused while learning kanji today. Came across a phrase, 牛歩戦術 [gyuuho senjutsu]. If you read the kanji literally, that means 'cow step war jutsu'. xD It bothered me so much that I had to look it up. Turns out it means 'snail's pace tactics'. Note to self: 'snail's pace' is actually 'cow's pace' in Japanese.
Well, it was in a list of words related to politics, so in that case the phrase would refer to 'walking slowly when voting in Diet to delay proceedings'. Note to self: Japanese politicians apparently walk like cows when feeling particularly mule-y. xD
[/amused]

NaNoWriMo is approaching again. It's about the time I've traditionally started thinking of plots and settings and character backgrounds, but...I'm not sure. The last years have been quite disastrous for me, on the NaNo front. And while this past year has been better for writing than the two before that, I still haven't written much at all. Maybe I'm just not meant for writing anymore. .__.
Still going to try, I think. NaNo is one event in the year I wouldn't miss completely, not for anything. Even when my inspiration and motivation both disappear somewhere along the first week (or, like last year, on the second day), the participation is an experience I don't want to lose.

Latest news from US: they're now planning ('considering') to make passengers on airplanes carry these wristbands that can send a bolt of electricity through you and make you unable to move. You know, just in case you get unruly.
Every time I hear something like this my decision to never go to that messed up country gets that much stronger, and I'm glad about it. How the mighty fall.

In MLaaK, I've had time to explore a grand total of..one floor. At the Infinity Spire, I mean. And I've taken down two of the legendary foes at that floor, but nothing else. So much to do, so much to do... I did manage to get that third bulletin board, but it's not helping too much, it seems. One's for low-low level behests (information about dungeons, looking for misplaced items, Infinity Spire for now..), one for early to mid 30's (or the only level 20-something dungeon that's left, the Barbair Abyss), and one for higher-level stuff (right now, looking for level 45 ingredients. One more of those left, then I'll move my best team to Isle of Giants. It's a bit (/way too) low-level for them, but they need experience somewhere before taking on a level 40-something dungeon. I think I'm going for the weapon shop then...that should be manageable)
The castle expansion, by the way...it was completely useless. Well, except maybe if you want to have one extra dungeon and a life-bar boss. For a level 39 dungeon! What cheating. I had to pause all operations for two days for what amounted to being..nothing. Well okay, you can rename your adventurers with it. Big deal, not interested. Okay, you can check all family relations from it quite conveniently. Big deal, family relations don't really matter other than if they're at max and you can get medals from that family, but you can't see that particular bit of info from the castle. Okay, so there's a jukebox too. Not useful either (other than for letting me know the titles of those songs) since you can only listen to it at the jukebox menu. *sigh* Wouldn't recommend getting it unless you really want to change the names of your adventurers or are a total completionist like me.

Now that I started playing MLaaK again, this insane urge to write fanfic for it came back. I already caved in before and wrote one short piece, seems that there'll have to be more.

The judge missions in FFTA bother me. Why the heck did I start FFTA2 when I still haven't totally finished FFTA? *sighs and shakes head* Maybe I'll persuade myself to night to finish a couple more of them...

As I mentioned in my last post, L'Épée du Gardien II (part 5 of the FF11 novelization series) was kinda boring. Finished reading it today, and Doug&co really did do almost nothing else but reach Kazham. Well, they went out to the jungle and got attacked. That's it. End of book, to be continued. D: I can't really approve of this dividing one book into three parts. They were released like this originally too, but that doesn't stop the three parts of it being a complete book, and this second part being the boring middle. The same thing happened with the first trilogy in the series...

O. M. G.
I'd forgotten why I fell in love with D.Gray-Man so quickly.
I'd forgotten it's not all senseless filler and drawn-out fights.
I'd forgotten there's more to it than just waiting for those always-late fansubs.
I fell in love again. *____*

Decided to catch up finally (22 episodes worth of anime right there), and I'm really glad that I did. On episode 70 now (started from 61), and I already had to stop once to draw a piece of fanart (Tyki!! <3) since I got a vision that wouldn't leave me alone, and for a second time to add detail to it. I'll finish it once I've finished squeeing here, watched the rest of the episodes and caught up with the manga.

What's this anyway? All of a sudden I'm bursting with creativity, like I haven't in years and years. All day yesterday I kept fighting off little undeveloped plot bunnies while trying to study and read, and now watching D.Gray-Man is spawning more of them, not to mention the visions I now get that are clearly meant to become fanart.
..how did I ever live with this back then!? There's no time to do it all and it's driving me crazy!
