Still sick. I'm starting to get tired of this. Running a fever for a third day
can't be good. .__.
Been playing more Folklore to pass the time. I've now beaten chapter 2 on both Ellen and Keats, and just started Keats chapter 3.
Things have turned interesting indeed...with all the mentions of a girl dying at Doolin 17 years ago, I first thought that Charlotte might've been a ghost or something (cutscene showed a girl with blonde hair, Charlotte's hair is the exact same shade), but the pub landlord ended up mentioning her...so she must be alive, after all. And now in ch 3 they've said that the girl's name was Cecilia. I'm now thinking it might be Ellen's sister or something. Definitely somehow related to her, judging from Dr Lester's behavior.
Oh, if you're not familiar with the story up 'till now..there were murders at Doolin 17 years ago. A man (Renaldo) and his son (Herve) died. In addition, the ligthhouse keeper Ryan was murdered. (or were they all murdered?) Renaldo and Herve left behind the mother of the family, Regine. Regine was pregnant with Suzette at the time. Now...Regine was the woman who fell off the Cliff of Sidhe in the opening video. She must've been murdered. Suzette still lives in the village, and is rather bitter. ....and as a side note, it was Regine who sent the letter to Ellen, claiming to be her mother. She was after 'revenge', but it's not very clear why she would want revenge on Ellen.
Other important people are Harriet - a woman who was close to Ryan and may have been the reason of his death, sending him off on an errand. Her part is not very clear yet, she refuses to talk to me now. There's the pub landlord and his daughter (?) Charlotte who knows surprisingly much, and there's old Dr Lester and his wife. Dr Lester had a clinic at the village 17 years ago, and took care of Herve who was seriously ill. He was murdered at the start of chapter 3. Then there's O'Connell, a scholar of some kind. He's not yet as deeply connected to the story as the rest.
Keats has started seeing a strange figure around. First glimpse was at the end of chapter 1...and the same (or at least same-looking) person killed Dr Lester. And when Keats talked to Ryan in the Netherworld he told him to warn Dr Lester that the 'fairy' is back. Now...when I did go to warn him, he at first didn't believe me. And then Ellen walked in. And he suddenly believed. There's something fishy here, alright. The next time I saw Dr Lester was when he was dead. Ellen was nowhere to be found at the time of his death. She was behaving weirdly all through the start of chapter 3. This needs more thorough thinking.
Well, I suspect I'll get to know what was wrong with Ellen at the time when I play through the chapter from her viewpoint. But to do that I first need to finish Keats's chapter 3...
This time the real in the Netherworld I traveled to is an underwater place. Looks nice, from the brief look I had at it before pausing. I haven't seen any Folks native to the place yet, as I only looked around the safe area at the start. But good thing it looks so different to Warcadia, the realm from chapter 2. That was quite boring to play through. Not to mention that the bombs constantly going off kept startling me...
It's weird...you see, to open the gate to a Netherworld realm, you need a memento. But in Keats's inventory, there seems to be no more room for mementos.. I remember Ellen having several free, but this makes me wonder how long this game will be. There's only 11 hours on the clock for now...
